Falling off his feet from the blast, Uni quickly regained his balance and glanced over at the archway, only to find it empty. Perplexed, he scanned his surroundings, searching for any clues about the cause of the explosion, but there was nothing to be found.
Suddenly, a voice broke the silence, startling Uni. "Hey you... You over there, come here." Turning his attention to the source of the voice, he noticed two figures crouched behind a massive ice structure, motioning for him to approach.
With a quick glance at the monster, he noticed the effects were beginning to fade, so he quickly joined them. As he got closer he noticed a guy and a girl, they were both dressed in all black like they were about to assassinate someone. The girl had her face hidden behind a black mask with intricate patterns, but from her lithe frame you could tell this was a female. She was clad in sleek black armor that seemed to offer both protection and ease of movement. With gloved hands, she was wielding a pair of dagger-like black blades along with some midnight hair touching her shoulders. From all that, she seemed like a goddess on Earth.
The guy on the other hand had more of a ominous aura to him, his face hidden behind a dark cloth mask that wraps around his head and lower face. He wears a form-fitting, long-sleeved black shirt rolled up showing his toned forearms, paired with matching pants that are a bit oversized, giving it a nice aesthetic. The fabric appears lightweight, allowing for fluid movements. Looking down, Uni noticed that instead of two black blades, this guy wielded a black one-handed sword embodying a silent but deadly force.
Feeling a little intimidated, Uni wondered, 'Are these people gonna kill me?' The girl chuckled, "You said that out loud." As he heard this, Uni turned away bashfully before clearing his throat. "Ah, I'm.... sorry..." Quickly the guy chimed in and said, "No need to apologize, you should always be weary of strangers. But this isn't one of those times we're on your side right now." Looking over at the guy Uni was about to introduce himself, but that's when they all heard the familiar Bone-chilling growl from earlier, only now it was more of an angry howl.
It seemed quite annoyed by that blast. Now it was aggressively smashing anything in the vicinity. As this was happening, the guy said, "look man, we'll save the introductions for later, but first we have to take care of that thing. You stay here, no offense but you'll only slow us down." Glancing at the girl, they both nodded at each other before leaving cover.
Seeing this, Uni tried to get up as well, Uni mustered all his strength to rise, unwilling to tolerate being belittled. However, the surge of adrenaline that had fueled him earlier now exacted its toll, engulfing his body in an indescribable array of pains. As he glanced at his arms, he realized they were no longer radiating the vibrant orange glow taking away his only real advantage. A sense of frustration washed over him, and Uni cursed inwardly. "Damn... he's right, I'm useless."
However, despite the pain, Uni summoned his last remaining energy and slid over to the edge of the ice cover to see what's going on.
The girl, swift and agile, moved with a grace that seemed otherworldly. Uni's gaze shifted to her utility belt, where he noticed an assortment of small explosive devices meticulously attached. 'Oh, so it was her earlier.' the girl skillfully weaved her way through the monster's ferocious attacks. She then grabbed one of the explosives and threw it at close range. She was able to get away safely, but the monster seriously felt that, losing its footing for a second. Seizing the opportunity, the guy struck with swift and precise strikes. His black sword danced through the air, slicing through the creature's defenses with ruthless efficiency. Each strike seemed to drain the creature's vitality, its furious resistance slowly diminishing.
Over time, Uni could see pieces of ice being chipped off of the monster. In awe, Uni was shocked how they were able to totally dismantle this creature that almost killed him like he was an ant. Focusing back to the fight, Uni saw the girl, an embodiment of agility and finesse, danced around the creature with an ethereal grace. The girl's blades danced through the air, leaving trails of shimmering darkness in their wake. The guy's sword became a blur, a whirlwind of shadows and steel. Their strikes found their mark with unerring accuracy, weakening the creature's defenses with each resounding impact.
As the battle raged on, the creature's roars grew increasingly desperate. It thrashed and writhed, its immense strength still posing a significant threat. Yet the girl and the guy remained resolute, their movements a symphony of lethal grace.
The girl and the guy continued their relentless assault, a palpable shift occurred within the ice creature. The ice covering the creature's body, once pristine and crystalline, underwent a dramatic metamorphosis. Gradually, the ice changed color, morphing into a deep, mesmerizing shade of obsidian black. To Uni's astonishment the creature began to shrink before their eyes, the towering and formidable figure diminished in size, gradually contracting until it stood no taller than an above-average man.
Although it was no longer towering over them anymore, this form of the monster seemed much more deadly, almost like its aura changed completely. Sensing the impending change, both the girl and the guy instinctively stepped back. It became apparent that they were prepared for this strange change, as if they were anticipating its occurrence.
'Ah CRAP, that does not look good at all.' But just as he thought this, Uni noticed after the transformation was complete, the guy and girl instantly took off. They split off from each other, with the girl going right, and the guy going right, flanking the monster. Oddly the monster stood motionless as this was happening.
As they closed in, both of them pulled out four arcane rods, and then they hurled the rods towards the ground just before reaching the monster. In a flash, scarlet tendrils erupted from the rods, coiling around the creature like constricting serpents, restraining the monster on both sides. Without hesitation, they unleashed a synchronized assault, the creature's defenses crumbled under the relentless barrage.
Watching them Uni was speechless, 'What the hell.... who are these guys? That thing almost killed me but they defeated it without a scratch.' As he thought this, a mysterious apparition materialized right before Uni's eyes.
